Upper Bridge Road

Richmond upon Thames, London

DESIGN: House Nine

BRIEF: A kitchen created for busy family life, set to endure the heavy traffic of children and canine friends alike. A classic Victorian town house, where the long narrow layout needed to feel light and bright, whilst remaining super functional.

CABINETRY: Classic Shaker cabinetry with a distinct slimline frame is hand-painted in Little Greene’s Slaked Lime Deep. The galley-style layout allows the cabinetry to perform functionally and visually, without disrupting the flow of the space. Worktops are cut from Caesarstone Layalite, with an ogee edge profile and simple draining grooves. Slim-cut matched Layalite shelving is delicately held with classic Corston antique brass brackets, nodding to the Corston antique brass Bayswater knobs throughout. Bespoke features include bookshelves, tray storage and an under-sink lintel. A dresser-style glazed cabinet adds a touch of trad-luxe, bringing its bare oak inners to the fore.

FIXTURES AND FITTINGS: A stainless steel Rangemaster takes centre stage with all other appliances, including Fisher & Paykel refrigeration, a Miele dishwasher and a plaster finish integrated Westin cooker hood. In line with the kitchen's antique brass ironmongery, a Quooker Classic Fusion Round in patinated brass bestows a traditional butler sink.
